Thabazimbi – A runaway fire swept through Rooikuilspruit in Thabazimbi on Thursday 20 August. According to eyewitnesses, a few youngsters made a fire in the veld to cook a chicken, but things soon escalated when the fire spread through the dry veld.
Hoedspruit – The Hoedspruit Police in the Mopani District are investigating the death of 69-year old lion owner Arthur Mathewson who was allegedly killed by two of his lions at the Lion Tree Game Lodge on Wednesday 26 August.
