Let’s pack a Santa Shoebox!

MAKE A CHILD SMILE THIS CHRISTMAS!

Platinum Bushvelder newspaper | Thabazimbi – A toothbrush, a toy, something sweet and something to wear: everyday items can become a special Christmas gift when packed with a child in mind. NG Kerk Thabazimbi is inviting everyone to support its Santa Shoebox Project, bringing Christmas cheer to children supported by the Thabang Children’s Project and the Thabazimbi Homeless Shelter. The church is planning a small Christmas party on 14 November 2026, when the children will receive their gifts and enjoy a day of fun and laughter.

Each shoebox will be packed for a specific child, adding a personal touch to a gift that says: someone thought of you.

Community support is also needed to make the celebration possible. Donations of food, cooldrinks and sweets would be appreciated, while sponsors can help cover the rental of a slip-and-slide and jumping castle.

Thabang Children’s Project is a registered non-profit organisation supporting children aged two to 18. Its Child and Youth Care Centre and Drop-in Centre together have capacity for up to 82 children. The Thabazimbi Homeless Shelter, also a registered NPO, assists homeless community members with food, clothing and other basic necessities.

With the community’s help, the church hopes to give the children a day to play, laugh and make happy memories — and a shoebox filled especially for them.
