Platinum Bushvelder newspaper | Thabazimbi – Glamorous gowns, sharp suits and spectacular arrivals set the scene as Hoërskool Frikkie Meyer’s 171 matric learners celebrated their farewell on Wednesday, 23 September 2026.

With a sunset-inspired theme, the evening brought together friendship, laughter and the bittersweet realisation that their school journey is drawing to a close. Proud families and enthusiastic spectators watched the arrivals, including Carmi Engelbrecht and HJ Koekemoer’s stylish entrance in a striking Cobra sports car.

Inside, twinkling lights, beautiful décor and heartfelt speeches created an unforgettable atmosphere. Head leaders Ané Coetzee and Herman Prinsloo opened the dance floor before a feast and an evening of dancing followed.

With final exams approaching, the celebration offered a precious moment to pause, reflect and enjoy being together. Behind them lie years of shared memories; ahead awaits a world of possibilities.
