Brutal farm murder

Lephalale – The police at Tom Burke in the Lephalale Cluster have taken one man in for questioning following the fatal shooting of a 57-year old farmer in the area on Wednesday, 21 March. 

According to brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, at about 20h30 an unknown gunman shot at 57-year old Jasper von Klause (farm manager).  Jasper was enjoying a quiet evening with his 55-year old partner at the Dale farm outside Lephalale.

Unfortunately, the farm manager was fatally wounded, and his companion injured during the attack.
Another suspect, also armed with a firearm, proceeded to the farm owner’s house within the vicinity and when the dogs started barking, his 34-year old son went outside to investigate. He was also shot and injured. 

He managed to get back into the house. On hearing the gunshots, the farm owner went outside and shot in the direction of the suspects who then fled from the scene.

Brigadier Mojapelo urged the public to contact captain Richard Boshomane on 079-894 5501 with information that could help the investigation.
