Mall rape case postponed AGAIN

Platinum Bushvelder newspaper | Thabazimbi – The case against 54-year-old Lazurus Mabotsane, who is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl at a local mall in Thabazimbi, has been postponed to 30 October 2026 for further investigation.

Mabotsane previously appeared in the Thabazimbi Magistrate’s Court, where bail of R500 was granted.

The charge stems from an alleged incident on Thursday, 30 April 2026.

Limpopo SAPS spokesperson colonel Malesela Ledwaba previously stated that the girl allegedly went to the restroom, where she encountered the accused waiting near the exit.

It is alleged that she was forcibly taken into the male restroom, where the assault allegedly occurred.

Police investigations continue.
