501 arrests in 1 week

Limpopo – Over the past week police operations have been on a strategic increase resulting in 501 arrests in Limpopo, said lieutenant colonel Moatshe’ Ngoepe, police spokesperson on 13 February. 

With charges ranging from the possession of dagga, house breaking, theft, drunken driving to armed robbery, murder and rape, police were well positioned to arrest the suspects. 

In the Mankweng, Thohoyandou, Makhado, Modimolle, Westernburg, Tzaneen, Lephalale and Seshego clusters; a total of 54 suspects aged between 21 and 46, were arrested. The following items were recovered: cell phones, nyaope drugs, computers, 5 firearms, ammunition, 1 tractor, cash, and laptops. 

Investigations continue.
