Used masks, the new ‘used condom’ [Letter to the editor]

For years we have all been completely crossed out by used condoms littering street sidewalks, public spaces and parks. It was a disgusting, disease-ridden ‘normal’ that we all just got used to.

As of late, I have noticed a new trend – the used condoms have made way for used masks. It is a bit alarming to see so many masks lying around. But just like many other unhealthy and unholy habits, this also seem to have become part of our new normal… how gross! 

For goodness’ sake people, please don’t get rid of your worn-out mask in such a unhygienic manner. It can spread Covid-19. Remember to always wear your mask, be wise and sanitise.
