Final stretch for Thaba Shelter
Thabazimbi – Thaba Shelter will be an ideal place for the homeless to take a shower, have a meal, and spend the night – at an affordable cost. Beverly Spira and Pieter Kuhn pulled up their sleeves and spent many a day scrubbing, painting, and fixing a building for the homeless. They finally reached the stage where they only need to finalise the last few things before they can finally open their doors.

- Cleaning items
- Grouting for tiles
- Someone to help fix a fridge and two microwaves
- Someone to help install kitchen cupboard
They also need financial help with the drug test kits, as no one is allowed to sleep in the shelter unless they test negative for drugs, to protect others in the shelter.
“We sincerely thank everyone who made donations and helped us on our journey. We are almost there!” said Beverly in an interview with Platinum Bushvelder.
You can also assist with their ‘sponsor a room’ programme where a business or community member can sponsor a room for R5,000. This will cover maintenance and electricity for that room, for a year.
