All smoke and mirrors with Northam Landfill [Letter to the editor]

Northam – What more is there to say about the continuous burning of waste and at the Northam Landfill site that hasn’t been said over the past few years – over and over again? 
We were traveling from Brits on Sunday 25 April, and I took pictures of the smoke polluting the Northam sky once again. We always hear that the issue is being delt with. I mean… really?
The site is located next to Northam Primary, and close to residential and businesses areas. Do they know what a big health risk this is? Do they even care? When will they find meaningful solutions to this ongoing problem?
Our town smells like a garbage bin and our homes even worse. How can they expect people to invest in a community where you are overpowered by the smell of burning garbage all the time?
