Masks that cater for the deaf

SA – Wearing a mask has become a part of everyday life during COVID-19 and those who design them have become innovative in their response to the needs of various people that make up our society.

A sign on a mask indicating that the person wearing it is deaf (and may be wearing a hearing aid) makes it easier for disabled persons to be assisted. In these difficult COVID-19 times, deaf people are unable to read the lips of those around them as [almost] everyone wears a mask. Please take note!
