Clampdown on unroadworthy vehicles 

Thabazimbi – The Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM)’s Traffic Department has enhanced its vehicle testing facilities as it tightens the screws on those driving unroadworthy vehicles.

The municipality recently procured a modern, user-friendly brake tester machine for checking brakes and axles. The purpose of the new machine is to identify malfunctioning brakes on vehicles. The machine is capable of testing front and rear brakes as well as the emergency braking system of any vehicle.

TLM mayor councillor John Michael Fischer, who inspected the facility with his team, was satisfied with is capabilities. “The Vehicles Testing Station (VTS) consists of a platform with rollers connected to a machine which calculates the brakes’ capability,” said VTS management representative Sello Peter Takadi.
