Lanterns are lit

Thabazimbi – The Chinese community celebrated the beginning of a new year on Friday, 12 February. During this time, windows are opened to allow good luck to come inside and lanterns are lit to reflect new hopes and aspirations for the new year. The new year is symbolised by the ox which characterises hard work, positivity, and honesty. Platinum Bushvelder would like to wish our Chinese readers a very happy and bountiful new year. 

Wen Chen, a local Chinese businessman enjoyed a dinner of chicken, meat and fish over the new year which symbolises having abundance year after year.
