R10,000 reward to catch ‘cable thief’

Thabazimbi – The unit housing the 1.7 megawatts generator at Smokey Mountain, on the R510 near Thabazimbi, was broken into on Friday 14 and Saturday 22 August.

Owners Allen en Maggie Ratsoma believe that there is more than meets the eye behind these criminal acts. They firmly believe that it is deliberate sabotage and decided to set aside R10,000 as a reward for anyone who can give information leading to the arrest of the person or persons who committed this crime or those behind the sabotage. “This incident gives the community a bad name as the culprits try to make it look like simple cable theft. We must expose the truth," said Allen in an interview with Platinum Bushvelder.
