To the heartbroken brides of 2020…

Thabazimbi – Brides all over the world were left heartbroken after they had to postpone their dream weddings due to the COVID-19 regulations.

Amanda du Plessis was supposed to get married to the love of her life on 8 August 2020. “It was the ideal and a very special date on the calendar for me. If you have 20/20 vision, they say your sight is perfect. Because the eight resembles the infinity symbol, it would have represented our infinite love for each other,” she explained.

Unfortunately, most of her family members reside in other provinces and there is so much uncertainty about the future – that the couple decided to rather postpone.

Du Plessis said: “We want all of our family with us when we get married and due to the travel restrictions, we are not sure if it will be possible.” Until they have certainty, their special day has been put on hold.

“I am so grateful for my mother and soon-to-be mother-in-law. My mother made me watch a video of Grace Kelly’s wedding and they really supported me throughout, helping me to stay positive,” she added. She would like to encourage other brides to stay positive and to remember that their fairy-tale day will come, and they will still have the opportunity to feel like a princess.

Rise up, dust off your wedding shoes and go wash your hands! It is time to start re-planning. See this as a refreshed opportunity. You can save that little bit of extra money to maybe afford something that the wedding budget originally did not allow.
