Accident claims two 

Thabazimbi – Two people lost their lives on Sunday 1 March in an accident involving two vehicles and a cow. 

The vehicles were following each other along the R516 road near Leeupoort when the one in front hit a cow in the middle of the road. 

The vehicle, which veered off the road soon after impact, overturned. 
Police spokesperson brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo had this to say: “The second vehicle drove over the cow and the driver also lost control. 

This vehicle also veered of the road. One of the passengers died on the scene while the other passenger and driver were taken to hospital for injuries sustained.” 

According to CLA911 spokesperson Zandré Pieterse, two of the victims had already passed away when CLA911 responders arrived, and three others had to be rushed to hospital.
