Galactico’s ready for PE football tournament

Northam – Local football club, Rens Galactico’s, is hoping to make the community of Northam proud when they compete against three other teams in a tournament that will be held in Port Elizabeth from Friday 28 June to Sunday 30 June. 

The team, which is owned and coached by Kurt Rensburg, left Northam in high spirits on Wednesday 26 June and is looking forward to an exciting experience. 

During the tournament, Galactico’s will play against Fair View Rovers, Park United and the host, Port Elizabeth Gallies.  A trophy and several other accolades, which were donated by Kurt, are up for grabs. 

In an interview with Platinum Bushvelder, Kurt thanked Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Mine (SBPM) for making their participation possible through a generous donation.   

“I have a dream to expand this club, I am aware that it is going to take time and patience, but I am willing to give it my all,” Kurt said.

“We are all very excited to take part in the tournament because it will be an amazing experience for the young players.” 

Wishing the team all the best, Gontse Sekudu, the social performance manager at SBPM said: “We are investing in our youth because they are our future. We take any investment towards the youth and communities very seriously. It is a privilege to be able to donate towards this new football club.”  The entire community of Northam and surrounding areas, who are rallying behind Kurt and the team, are excited about their participation in the tournament.
