TLM plans for the future

Thabazimbi – Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM) held its strategic planning session from 13 to 15 March at the Kumba Bioscope Hall in Thabazimbi.

The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to TLM were discussed in detail during the three-day session. Issues under discussion focused on service delivery and audit outcomes.
“We have deliberated on several important issues, which are critical to the future of our municipality.

We are confident that when we report back to our stakeholders, they will be comforted that we remain firm in our commitment to advance their interest and respond to their needs,” said TLM mayor John Michael Fischer during his keynote address.

“This session has given us many tasks. It has pointed the way forward towards achieving our vision. It has directed us to work even harder to further accelerate and advance the cause of this vision,” he added. 

“The expected outcomes of this strategic planning session should forge the immediate, medium and long-term strategic priorities, as well as financial and political commitments, the recommendations and discussions made during this planning must be evidence-based,” said speaker Bertie Joubert in his welcoming remarks. 

Municipal manager TG Ramagaga said his administrative team will continue to work closely with councillors and various stakeholders to improve the lives of the community.

 
The strategic planning was attended by amongst others the TLM mayor, speaker, chief whip, whips of political parties, executive committee (ExCo) members, chairpersons of Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) and Audit Committee, TLM management team, representatives from Office of the Premier, Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA), Auditor-General South Africa (AGSA) and Waterberg District Municipality.
