Thabazimbi – The Matlabas region is facing an unprecedented crisis as devastating floods have ravaged communities, leaving destruction in its wake. February’s torrential rains have submerged homes, washed away roads, and surpassed even the record-breaking floods of 2000. Now, more than ever, we must stand together to support those in need.

The Matlabas Custodians oversee a vast area covering over 2 million hectares, including Thabazimbi, Dwaalboom, Derdepoort, Makoppa, Rooibokkraal, Sentrum, Cumberland, Matjiesfontein, Vaalwater, Bulgerivier, Afguns, Lephalale, Steenbokpan, Stockpoort, Mogol, Baviaanshoek, Tafelkoppe, Beska/ Phalala, Tom Burke, Marken, Overyssel, and Toog. Across these areas, families have lost their homes, businesses have been devastated, and essential infrastructure has been severely damaged.
