Thabazimbi Feed the Poor receives generous donations
Thabazimbi – On Friday, 27 October 2023, Thabazimbi Feed the Poor reached a significant milestone in its mission to provide food and clothing to those in need, particularly children facing difficult circumstances. These children often bear the brunt of their families’ financial struggles.
Since its establishment in 2011, this non-profit organisation (NPO) has encountered numerous challenges in fulfilling its noble mission. One of the most formidable hurdles was the necessity to cook meals for children on an open, scorching fire. In the blazing heat of the bushveld, midday can be particularly unforgiving, not to mention the copious amounts of wood required to keep the fire going. Managing large 50-litre pots over open flames proved to be a strenuous task, requiring great care to ensure that food did not burn. This has been a 12-year-long struggle that only those directly involved can truly comprehend.
Additionally, the estimated 150 children and orphans who depend on the NPO for their daily meals had to sit on the ground while eating. The lack of tables and chairs meant that accidents, such as a child accidentally kicking sand into another’s plate, were not uncommon. These young souls had no choice but to consume their meals, sand and all, without the possibility of a second helping.
The prospect of acquiring tables and chairs presented its own set of challenges, as an alarm system would be necessary to protect the valuable furniture. Then, a stroke of divine intervention occurred. According to Thabazimbi Feed the Poor, God answered their prayers, recognized the pressing needs, and sent Rosond into their lives. Rosond, a drilling and grouting service provider to the mining and exploration sector, generously blessed Thabazimbi Feed the Poor with a 4-plate gas burner, a sturdy steel side table, and all the equipment required for safe and efficient gas cooking, including two 48 kg gas bottles, a secure cage, installation services, and a gas compliance certificate. But that’s not all; Rosond went above and beyond by delivering durable, long-lasting benches and tables that can comfortably accommodate 8 to 10 children, allowing them to enjoy a clean meal and place their juice next to their plates. Thabazimbi Feed the Poor adds that Rosond also took care of security measures and provided an alarm system to ensure the safety of the premises and the countless guardian angels watching over Berachah. The era of cooking on an open fire is now over! Sitting on the ground is no longer necessary, and sand is not found in the children’s food. To top it all off, a generous game farmer added to this blessing by donating kilograms of buffalo mince, easing the cooking process even more. Thanks to these contributions, the kids now savor the most delicious meals, including curry and rice, savory mince, and more. Alongside daily deliveries of eggs, bread, milk, and cake, as well as generous monthly contributions from anonymous companies and individuals, God’s special children are now dining like children of the King should.
