Tragic collision claims two lives

Thabazimbi – On Sunday 10 September 2023, a tragic road accident occurred near Marakele on the  Warmbad Weg at approximately 19:30. Two vehicles – a Ford Eco Sport carrying three passengers and a Volkswagen sedan with two occupants – were involved in the dreadful collision.

Swiftly responding to the scene were teams from Trauma Rescue, Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM) Thabazimbi Fire and Rescue (TFR), and the Thabazimbi Community Policing Forum (CPF). Their rapid intervention ensured that survivors received immediate attention, but, tragically, one passenger from the Ford was pronounced dead at the site of the crash. The heartbreak deepened when a second passenger from the same vehicle later succumbed to injuries in hospital.  

Details regarding the condition of the remaining passengers were still unconfirmed at the time of going to print. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic incident, and we extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families.
