Little Ricus needs your help!

Thabazimbi – Baby Ricus Brynard was born on 4 November 2022 at 25 and a half weeks.

After his birth, little Ricus was kept in a neonatal intensive care unit for 126 days where he battled numerous infections and other medical conditions.

Baby Ricus suffers from chronic lung disease and is very susceptible to illnesses. On 6 June Ricus was admitted to hospital for scans where it was discovered that he has an enlarged heart and stomach, as well as a collapsed lung, and a lung with fluid effusion.

7-month-old Ricus further underwent a hernia repair on 9 June, but his lungs have become a concern due to a lung infection which requires a high flow of oxygen treatment. Currently Ricus is permanently on oxygen at home due to his chronic lung disease.   

The Brynard family is praying for an improvement on his condition, but because there is still a road to walk in their son’s recovery, the family is under financial strain.
