CHILD ABUSE CASE POSTPONED AGAIN

Thabazimbi – The case against the three suspects who face charges of sexual assault, child neglect, and assault with the intent to inflict grievous bodily harm was once again postponed on Friday 19 April 2023.

The trio will appear before the Thabazimbi Magistrates’ Court again on 29 June 2023. The man was initially arrested with two women on 26 January 2023 after it came to light that a child was sexually assaulted and that two children were brutally assaulted with a cricket bat.

On 8 February, the two women were granted bail of R1,000 each while the man was granted bail of R2,000 on the first charges, but he remained in custody after an additional charge of sexual assault was filed against him. He was released on 13 March 2023 on R2,000 for the first charge, and R500 for the second.
