Setaria Netball Club takes on Cape Town 10’s

Setaria – The Setaria Netball Club team participated in the Cape Town 10’s at Green Point Athletic Stadium in Cape Town on Friday 3 February 2023 and Saturday 4 February 2023. The team did exceptionally well and pulled through to the finals where they lost by one point.
Getting women in the community up and active was the main goal when the club started. However, it has turned out to be so much more as it has brought much excitement to community members who enjoy the netball games.

When the club started it had 10 members, but the numbers have since grown to almost 30 players. They have also participated in tournaments like the Bushveld 10’s and the Klerksdorp 7’s, and they play regular games throughout the year.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to celebrate our talents as women and shine in our very own way. Each individual brings her own uniqueness to the team which creates the perfect dynamic. We are truly blessed and very lucky to have had support from Zondereinde and all our sponsors, teammates, management, and coaching teams.

We are grateful to able to realise a dream that we’ve been fostering for more than a year,” said team coach Chantell Goliath.
