Protest on R510 causes damage to vehicles

Sandfontein/ Northam – Community members brought traffic to a standstill on the R510 in the Sandfontein area approximately 30km from Northam on Thursday 19 January 2023.


According to North West police spokesperson colonel Adéle Myburgh, the Mogwase Police was called out to the scene where they found the road blocked off.


There were also reports of protestors throwing rocks at cars who were caught in the crossfire.

Protestors blocked off the road preventing motorists from crossing.
