GET INVOLVED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE 

Thabazimbi – The annual general meeting of the Thabazimbi Ratepayers Association took place at Thaba Park on Tuesday 1 November 2022.

• The following community members were elected to serve on the 2023 committee:

Ben Muller – chairman
Thane Hearne – vice chairperson 
Jolizna Harmse – secretary/ treasurer

In an interview with Platinum Bushvelder, Hearne urged the community to get involved and join the association. “It is our intention to revive the ratepayer’s association and to do this, we need the community’s support.

Membership is R120 per year but should circumstances not allow you to be able to pay this amount, please contact us, so that we can come to an agreement.” 

Thabazimbi currently has an estimated population of almost 70,000 people, while only 26 people are paid-up members. “In order for us to attempt to make a difference in our community, we are in dire need of more members.

If you join the association, you will allow us to make the positive changes that we so desperately need in the community,” added Hearne. 

The committee will have their next meeting before Thursday 15 December where they will compile a list of priorities that need to be addressed. The final date for the meeting will be confirmed closer to the time.
