Safite is making a difference

Northam – Onalenna Safite (20) was chosen as a finalist for Miss Glam SA 2022 on Saturday 15 October 2022.

“My journey as a semi-finalist has been an emotional rollercoaster. After facing many challenges, I almost lost hope. I know that many girls in my community need help, and I know that I have to help them.”

“Being chosen as a finalist for the Miss Glam SA 2022 made me realise that I am our Lord’s daughter and that I have the power within me to make a change. I feel very honoured, and I am very grateful,” said Safite. 

As part of her journey, she aims to give back to the community. To do this, Safite is asking for sanitary towel donations from the community – which she will hand out to young girls.

She already started this initiative by paying a visit to Northam Primary School on 14 October 2022 where she donated sanitary pads.

But she acknowledges that the battle has not yet been won and wants to continue to make a difference.

“These donations will boost the self-esteem of the girls in my community. With added confidence, the girls will be less absent from school due to lack of sanitary pads.”
