Rhinos on the verge of glory

Northam – The Northam Rhinos are motivated by the prospect of winning the coveted Lucas Strachan Shield when they meet the Grizzlies in Pretoria on Saturday 21 August 2021.

Their 31-12 win over Harlequins in their Carlton Cup first round match played in Northam on Saturday has put them in a very good position to claim the first-round silverware, which would be the highlight of their 2021 season. As things stand, Rhinos are on 21 points – just two points behind log leaders Centurion. 

Rhinos will travel to Pretoria to conclude their first-round fixtures against Grizzlies at the Tuine Sports Club.

While victory for the Northam-based team will mean Rhinos claim the first-round silverware for the first time ever, the Grizzlies will be a difficult opponent when one considers their impressive 47-22 win over Pretoria in their previous match. Said Rhinos coach Flip De Kock:

“We are going to Pretoria with a positive mindset, because we all believe we have what it takes to win!”
