PEDDLING A PATH to a better future

Northam – Deputy Minister of Transport Dikeledi Magadize handed over more than 70 bicycles to Northam Comprehensive School on Friday 19 February.

This donation forms part of the department’s Scholar Transport Programme, assisting learners with adequate and affordable transport when traveling to and from school. “Kids that don’t have transport will be able to ride their bicycles to school. Even though the bicycles will remain the school’s property, we urge the learners to look after the bicycles as if it were their own,” Magadize said. Each bicycle is complete with a safety hat, tool kit and safety jacket. The excitement on the children’s faces were priceless as they took the brand-new bicycles for a test drive.
