Education shapes tomorrow’s workforce — but are we teaching the right skills? With technology, sustainability, and new industries rapidly growing, many wonder if our school curriculum prepares learners for the jobs of today and the future. What’s your view?

My opinion: Some school subjects are directly useful for certain careers. For example, business studies help if you want to start a company. Mechanical and engineering subjects prepare learners for fields like diesel mechanics or graphic engineering. While I don’t agree with teaching sexuality at a very young age, I believe subjects are important to guide children toward careers as doctors, vets, teachers, business owners, HR managers, CEOs, nurses, engineers, or mechanics.

No. Schools aren’t keeping up with rapid tech changes, leaving a gap in skills like coding and digital literacy. Practical training is limited, and the future demands adaptability and creativity that current curricula don’t fully cover.
