Tokkie Swanepoel, our new mayor

Thabazimbi – A new dawn for the residents of the Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM) with councillor Johanna Elizabeth Albertina (Tokkie) Swanepoel as the new mayor of our municipality! 

TLM held its inaugural council sitting for the term 2021 to 2026 at Trollope Hall on Tuesday 23 November. Twenty-three councillors were officially sworn in by magistrate Thea Swart and mayor Tokkie Swanepoel was elected by the Thabazimbi Municipal Council.

During her acceptance speech, mayor Tokkie Swanepoel thanked the parties and community members for having faith in her leadership abilities and trusting her to steer up this ship. “I am humbled by the support and want all of us to work together”.
