Court no-show: arrest warrant issued, R5,000 bail forfeited

Platinum Bushvelder newspaper | Thabazimbi – A warrant of arrest has been issued for a man accused of inappropriately touching a primary school child after he failed to attend his scheduled court appearance on 19 October 2026. His R5,000 bail money was also forfeited. The accused had previously missed a court appearance on 29 September, after which the matter was postponed to 19 October.

He appeared before the Thabazimbi Magistrates’

Court on 24 and 28 August and was granted bail. He allegedly touched the child’s breasts and buttocks.

The allegations have not yet been proven in court, and the accused remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
