Ride among the Big 5 at Marakele!

Thabazimbi – Get ready to tick off a bucket-list adventure with the Marakele MTB Challenge on Saturday, 24 May 2025 – a thrilling mountain bike race where riders can pedal through the spectacular wilderness of Marakele National Park, home to the iconic Big 5.

Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a casual rider, there’s a route for everyone: choose from 70km, 40km, 20km, or a 10km fun ride. The event kicks off at 07:00.

And it’s more than just a ride – it’s a cause. All proceeds support conservation efforts through SANParks Honorary Rangers.

Riders who cross the finish line will earn a limited-edition LION commemorative medal, the second in the exclusive Big 5 medal series.
