TLM teams tackle grass, sewers, and landfill
Thabazimbi/ Northam – In a strong show of service delivery and community care, Thabazimbi Local Municipality teams rolled up their sleeves on Monday, 7 April 2025, to improve the state of public spaces in and around Northam and Thabazimbi.
Staff from the Parks and Water and Sanitation Services Departments hit the ground running with two pressing tasks: cutting overgrown grass along the bustling Warmbaths Road and tackling the unblocking of sewer systems. Meanwhile, at the Northam landfill site — recently a growing concern due to overflow — dedicated teams jumped into action under the watchful eye of Ms Boitumelo Matlhafuna, manager of Parks and Solid Waste, and Cllr David Gouveia. Their goal? Restore order to this critical site and uphold environmental safety standards for the surrounding communities.
Overseeing the morning’s efforts were Speaker of Council, Cllr Dingaan Joshua Sebata, along with councillors Estie Fourie and Zama Ndlovu. Together with Ms Matlhafuna, the leadership team ensured that operations ran smoothly and met the high standards expected by residents.
