Yes, animals have emotions. They clearly express them through behaviours like cringing in fear or showing playfulness when they receive attention. They also grieve the loss of loved ones, often losing their appetite or becoming inactive. Working with animals reveals that they possess a depth of emotion and soul that, at times, surpasses that of some people.
