TRAGIC ACCIDENT NEAR MAWALA LODGE

Northam – On Friday 31 May 2024, a tragic accident occurred near Mawala Lodge, just before the Koedoesdoring turnoff at approximately 17:20,” said Rural Safety chairperson Johan Prinsloo.
The two vehicles involved were a Nissan Almera and a Toyota Fortuner in a devastating head-on collision.

The Swartklip Fire and Rescue team rushed to the scene and used the Jaws of Life to extract the driver of the Nissan Almera from the wreckage. Sadly, the driver of the Nissan Almera passed away on the scene. Eagle Trauma Rescue transported the driver of the Toyota Fortuner to a local hospital.
