Thabazimbi – Marx Wolvaardt (19) was chosen to represent South Africa in Egypt next year as Mister Eco South Africa.

Wolvaardt is a learner of Hoërskool Frikkie Meyer in Thabazimbi and a model of DAMASA (Dance and Model Academy South Africa).

Marx was scouted for the opportunity through his model-coach Dajana Rijetkovic, who saw great potential in him and sent his details through to the national director of Mister and Miss Eco South Africa, Lenie Pieterse from Maggy Dee Productions.

After some scouting of male models, Marx was chosen for the title. Marx has a lot of work ahead as he needs to prepare for this prestigious competition, competing against contestants from all over the world.

He will need to do environmental projects as well, and build up his social media platform for the voting system. Marx will be working hard on his talent and preparation with his coach, Dajana.

Wolvaardt has also started training intensively with GH Fitness Instructor Gerrie Havenga, who won best physique title as well as first runner up at mister global international in Thailand this year. Their focus is for Marx to win the Eco Warrior fitness challenge.

Wolvaardt will also need the support of his community and country with helping him raise funds to be able to compete in Egypt. Marx is not only representing South Africa, but he is representing Thabazimbi.

“We ask you to please stand behind Marx as he embarks on this journey and follow him by liking the Facebook page: Marx Wolvaardt Mister Eco South Africa. We wish Marx all the best with his preparations as there are five months left to go before he departs to Egypt for the most amazing experience representing our country!” says Rijetkovic.
