The SAB Foundation Tholoana Enterprise Programme is looking for entrepreneurs who are passionate and dedicated to growing the economy and creating jobs.

Can you imagine your business turnover growing by more than 500% and creating two new jobs for your community? Based in the Limpopo, The Laundry Room is a past participant of the SAB Foundation Tholoana Enterprise Programme that is doing just that.

South Africa is full of young, inspired, and passionate entrepreneurs who are working tirelessly to change the path South Africa is on. The SAB Foundation Tholoana Enterprise Programme is looking for businesses who have the potential for growth and the desire to create jobs and applications for this year’s programme are now open, until 26 September 2019.

The programme invests in entrepreneurs, particularly women, youth, people in rural areas and persons with disabilities. The structured 18-month programme offers entrepreneurs skilled mentorship, business development tools and workshops, powerful peer networks, access to finance, and support throughout their time on the programme.

So far, the SAB Foundation has provided over R8 million in grant funding and business support to 39 entrepreneurs in Limpopo. This has helped them grow their collective turnover by 99%, from R 9.3 million at inception to over R 18 million as at 2018, and employ a total of 302 people of which 110 are new jobs.

Past and present participants continue to achieve incredible things in their businesses. With funding and business support, The Laundry Room increased their turnover from R100 000 to R540 000 and grew their workforce from three to five employees.

Director of the SAB Foundation, Bridgit Evans said: “We want to make a lasting impact and we want these entrepreneurs to succeed.

What sets this programme apart from others is that the entrepreneurs are not just another number – they are individuals and there is a personal touch throughout the programme.

We value their personal and professional wellbeing.”
