Thabazimbi – The community of Thabazimbi mourns the loss of Midah Moselane who passed away on Wednesday 19 June.

Midah was born and bred in Thabazimbi and attended Mabogopedi Secondary School in Regorogile. After school she worked at Kumba Mine for about 20 years until the mine closed in November 2015.

Midah was always interested in politics and improving her community – and in 2016 she became the mayor of the Thabazimbi Local Municipality (TLM) where she remained in the seat until 2018.
Midah loved to cook and she loved gardening. Her favourite TV show was World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

She was a strong woman; she was humble and sweet and very forgiving.

“I will miss my time with my mom, she always looked out for me,” said Midah’s son, Terrance, in an interview with Platinum Bushvelder.

Midah is survived by her two children, a son and daughter, one grandchild and her three sisters.
Midah’s funeral will take place on 29 June at the Trollope Saal at the showgrounds from 08:00 till 10:00.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Midah’s family, friends and colleagues.

The late Midah Moselane, former TLM mayor.
